Ten Tears of Student Insight Research: What are International Students Seeking?

Abstract

This session will present ten years worth of data from the British Council's global and longitudinal Student Insight survey. With more than 200,000 responses to date, this seminal anniversary study explores the decision-making processes of students across the world interested in studying a foreign qualification, as well as their demographic characteristics, the countries they would like to study in, fields of study, as well as sources of information they considered when making that decision. Importantly, this report explores the demographic (and other) differences between the decision-making processes of different student groups. The report also compares how student decision-making processes with regard to a foreign qualification have evolved and changed over the last 10 years as well as their views on employability and the countries that they consider would most enhance their career opportunities.
