Managing Risk: Security/Safety Protocols for Staff & Student Mobility

Abstract

At a time of growing global unrest and uncertainty, managing risk associated with internationalisation has never been as important. Technology is proving to be an ever vital tool for assisting with the task of managing staff and student mobility.  What protocols does your organisation have in place in the event of an emergency situation arising overseas? Do these protocols apply equally to both staff and students? How do you assess risk for staff and student mobility? Are your targets for increasing staff and student mobility compatible with your organisational risk assessment & mitigation protocols? Who owns the risk in your organisation should the worst case scenario unfold?

This session will hear from an experienced panel of international colleagues discussing examples of robust planning for high and low risk countries, how technology can assist with planning and monitoring, examples of when things have gone wrong, and crisis/emergency response protocols.
