The Impact Of The 4th Industrial Revolution On Higher Education In The Asia Pacific Region: The De La Salle University (DLSU) Experience

Abstract
The fusing of the physical, digital and biological worlds is the hallmark of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Schwab, 2016). Disruptions are already changing the landscape of industry and commerce. The radical changes linked to these fusions are exerting pressure on higher education institutions as they strive to align themselves with these new paradigms.

De La Salle University is experiencing these challenging shifts and, like other higher education institutions in the Asia Pacific Region, is taking adaptive responses. This presentation discusses the platform from which the University operates and the varied initiatives it is taking: flexible delivery of services, development and diversification of programs, internationalization of offerings, student and faculty exchange, linkages with regional and global educational and industry partners, etc.
