Abstract

The present instability of many countries of the world, cheaper means of mobility and access to information on social media makes migration available for a larger amount of the population. Recognition of foreign qualifications, including those without sufficient documentation, will continue to be an important component of the daily activities of recognition authorities and higher education institutions throughout the world. However, at a time of unprecedented pressure to tackle the migration challenge, there is a demand for a long-term, sustainable and technically adequate approach to screening, evaluation and recognition of refugees’ qualifications, in order to better integrate refugees and migrants in society. This session discusses current challenges, demands and possible solutions on the way towards efficient and technically adequate scheme for evaluation of refugees' qualifications in the era of the fourth industrial revolution.
